Developing a Revenues & Benefits Service for a new Unitary Council
- Cornwall Council

Problem:

Job descriptions and role profile questionnaires required development for 30 new roles to continue the implementation of
a unified Revenues and Benefits organisation, from six former district and borough local authorities in Cornwall.

Approach:

Given the tight timescales, assistance was required from Indigo Edge, experienced consultants, who could pick up and run
with the project and also demonstrate the following skills:


A sound understanding of the business

The ability to identify potential gaps in the new structure and make recommendations

An understanding of HR processes

An appreciation of how complex and disparate the six separate organisations were likely to be

Results / Benefits

The target implementation date was achieved against a background of business as usual and also coinciding with the
year-end process. The smooth transition to the new structure has laid firm foundations for achieving these initiatives and
developing the Revenues and Benefits service further. The progress Cornwall has now made would not have been
